Sigiriya: Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is remains of the 5th-century city located in northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla. It is a great place to visit and explore the remnants.
Yala National Park: Yala National Park is a colossal forest and grassland area featuring a range of wildlife animals such as elephant, leopards, crocodiles and more. Apart, there are also various ancient caves and Buddhist ruins perfect for a memorable visit.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa is a beautiful Buddhist Temple located in the city of Kandy. The temple is located inside the royal palace of the former Kingdom of Kandy.
Sri Pada/ Adam’s Peak: Adams Peak is a conical mountain located in central Sri Lanka. The 2,243 meter tall peak is famed for the sacred footprint and a famous pilgrim site which is accessed by a track. Again, a great place to enjoy the beauty of a mountain and surrounding landscape.
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage offers an incredible chance to come close and interact with the elephant. It is an elephant orphanage where adult and baby elephants are kept and breed. Here, people can watch and involve in river bath of the elephant.
Best time to Visit Sri Lanka
The best time to visit Sri Lanka is between December- April, when the weather is warm and mostly dry. Monsoon arrives in May to August in west and south part; October to January in north and eastern part. Major festivals are Buddhist and Hindu New Year (April), Buddhist Vesak Festival (May), Esala Perahera in Kandy (August) and Christmas (December).
